This was my first ever NZ pie, so I don't have a point of comparison, but it was delicious. I ordered the steak and cheese. I honestly didn't taste the cheese, but the gravy was delicious. The crust was divine—multilayered and flakey. The pie held the filling well, and it was very easy to eat in my hands, not messy at all. I would go back and try some other flavors. The pie was very filling for me. The service was very friendly and told me that the owners were from NZ. I'll have to bring my kiwi partner next time and see what he thinks about this place!

Say this place on Eater for best pies in the Denver metro area for savory pies. I was very intrigued. Finally stopped buy to buy a variety. Bought a bunch of the breakfast and other meat pies. The biggest stand outs were sausage roll, New Zealand meat green chili breakfast pie. All pies were simple to heat at home. They all came out super flaky and tasty. They have a points for making purchases that go to rewards. You can also eat there in the small space and offer sweet New Zealand ice cream. Will be back to try sweet pies and get more of the savory for my freezer.

So…I don’t write reviews for restaurants. Ever. But the meal I had from Tip Top was so insanely good, it absolutely had to raved about. I ordered the Roast Chicken pie and the Blueberry pie for delivery. The chicken pie was nothing short of incredible- there were large chunks of white meat chicken which were so deliciously moist that it was shocking. I am very picky about eating chicken dishes at restaurants because 98% of the time chicken cooked this way is very dry but not here! The gravy and veggies were yummy and I felt like the crust was perfect- dense enough to hold the ingredients well (I was able to cut the pie in half and eat each side as you would with a sandwich) but also flaky and delicious. The blueberry pie was equally yummy and a perfect pairing for the chicken pie. If I had to find something that could be improved upon, which was hard, I’d say the crust could use a little more salt. I also feel like pointing out that those who are complaining about the amount of filling don’t know anything about cooking pastry dishes- you cannot overfill the pastry of a “hand pie” (which is meant to be small in the first place) with filling because your crust will end up soggy and will fall apart. Also, when these were made prior to cooking, they were likely completely filled with the filling but the filling will “settle” in the crust as it cooks and lets off steam. So for those questioning whether or not to patronize Tip Top due to those comments, it is an unfair critique. Regardless- I LOVE this place and will be a customer forever.

Have been to NZ a couple times so this was a bit of a nostalgic venture. Really appreciated the hand made food clearly prepared with love but forgot how bland “English” inspired cuisine was. A little hot sauce did the trick but would like to see a larger portion for $11 as there are tons of great options in this price range.
